Why Donate?

Often we are asked why donations are so important when the medical staff consists entirely of volunteers. The Clinic does have expenses related to running a medical and dental clinic and a pharmacy, and community donations allow the Anderson Free Clinic to provide quality medical and dental care at no cost to qualified patients. Here are some facts:

• The AFC provides over $3.6 million dollars in prescriptions, at a cost to the Clinic of only $40,000 thanks to Patient Assistance Programs from pharmaceutical companies.
• The AFC facility was donated by AnMed Health, and the AFC is also an agency of the Anderson United Way.
• Charitable donations from area churches, civic groups, memorials, and individual gifts provide 70% of the clinic’s operating budget!
• The clinic’s single annual fundraiser “Walk with the Docs” provides almost 12% of the clinic’s operating budget!

The Anderson Free Clinic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that provides medical and dental care at no charge to persons who cannot afford private medical care.
